SXL - E1 - The Sixfold Ball: Part 9 -Final-

“Haha! Liam sure sounds like quite a pokemon! I would love to meet him some time...”

“Well, I only brought Bozzy with me, but whenever we see each other again, you two can meet and I’m sure he would love to meet you too.”

Mia was very pleased to hear this, and looked up at the sky, trying to imagine the meeting. But it was then that she noticed how much darker it had gotten. She wasn’t sure just how much time had passed since she had first arrived, but she could still tell that it had been quite a while.

“Oh wow, it’s getting so late. Er, I hope I haven’t been keeping you away from the fun of the party….”

“No, not at all. I came out here to enjoy the quiet for a reason. And besides, uh…I heard that someone might’ve spiked the punch…. who knows what’s going on in there.”

Almost right on timing, Mia swore that she could faintly hear people inside chanting “kiss” along with some other random cheering. Yeeeaaah, he’s prooobably right…eh heh…

“What about you, though? Have I been keeping you away from someone?”

“Oh no, no! I don’t have a date or anyone. Just Terru.” When Mia noticed that the Swablu had apparently fallen asleep on top of Raoul’s head during the course of their conversation, she rose slightly and reached up in order to pick her up without disturbing her. Placing her lightly in her lap, she began to stroke the bird’s soft, feathered head.

“Heh, yeah, same here with me and Bozzy.”

“….wait a minute…pft…!” The red-head grinned widely to herself and Raoul gave her a questioning look.

“Huh? Oh dear, what are you thinking of…?”

“I just had an idea is all~” Miaru’s gaze shifted back over to the man before she playfully nudged him. “Whaddya say, Raoul? Maybe we can pretty much consider each other as our dates~? After all, we both came alone and we just happened to meet the way we did.” she joked. “And we spent most of our time here together anyway~!”

For a few seconds, Mia hoped that she hadn’t gone too far with her joking, but she was glad when a smile cracked on his lips and he chuckled.

“Well sure, why not? “

“Great then!” Mia twitched slightly when she remembered that Terru was asleep, and chuckled at her own enthusiasm. It had been a long time since she could joke like this, and she was happier than anything else to be able to share her silly thoughts with someone other than her own pokemon. “…you know, Raoul. You’re a really awesome person, you know that? I’m really glad I got to meet you.”

“Er, well…” Miaru watched in amusement as Raoul’s face became red once more before he turned his head away in embarrassment. “Thank you...same here actually. You‘re a very lively person," his orange eyes slid back over to her. “It’s like a breath of fresh air. So far, a lot of the people here in Lochesh have been really…emotionless. So it’s a really nice change.”

It was Mia’s turn to blush as his compliments, but she grinned brightly at him, more than happy to hear that. “Well, I’m glad…!”

Raoul returned her smile, seeing the girl so happy. “Don’t mention it.”

Mia looked back down at her sleeping Swablu, stroking her gently as she slept through all of this.

Well, Terru…I guess I’ll just tell you tomorrow. But you know…you were right. I doubted it at first, but you were right. I opened up and I made a friend. All because you made him sneeze. This may sound really weird, but…

…thank you so much for making him sneeze. I owe you one.
